A good, and fast way to drive some traffic to your website is through the old fashion news release. Now I’m not talking about writing an article for your local small-town newspaper, but rather an article that will be submitted electronically to thousands of media outlets online, that can gain the attention of thousands of readers. Here are a few points to remember when writing/submitting your release… 1) Make the release “newsworthy”. Nobody cares about something you are trying to sell. You need to make it interesting so that an editor would feel proud that he/she chose your article to be put in print. 2) Use an online news release services such as PRWeb.com. We have used them in the past and were very happy with their work, and their pricing was competitive. 3) Be sure to place your website URL in online copies of your press release to increase link popularity (temporarily). 4) Include a relevant picture, if at all possible. When it comes to writing the release itself, this can be tough. Feel free to contact EMG for any insights/assistance in your next news release campaign, as we have “been there” and “done that” many times. A well written release will potentially send large amounts of traffic to your website; so be ready for your analytics to rise and put up a fresh new “call to action” on your website. |
